What is the KookBook Cosmetics? 

KookBook Cosmetics is more than just a makeup line—it is a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable women who shaped my life. This brand is dedicated to my late grandmother, Ruth; my late mother, Melanie; my twin sister, Kiersten; and the many other women who helped raise me. Each of them left me with invaluable lessons of strength, grace, and self-expression, and I am forever grateful for all that they taught me.

 

My grandmother, Ruth, was a devoted wife and mother of five, who embodied divine femininity. Some of my most cherished memories are of helping her get ready for church, watching her transform with just a few touches of makeup. Both my grandmother and my mother firmly believed that when you look your best, you feel your best—a belief that continues to guide me today. When I lost my mother at 15, it was a devastating turning point, but it also awakened my love for creativity and transformation.

 

Growing up, Kiersten and I took on the responsibilities of being the oldest daughters, and my grandmother nurtured our love for cooking and hospitality, passing down her treasured recipes. Those moments in her kitchen were filled with warmth, tradition, and the soulful essence of family, shaping my deepest sense of home and community.
